Outpatient Program Director Position Overview
The Outpatient Director is supervised by the CCO.
The Outpatient Program Director supervises: Non-Clinical Staff including but not limited to:
Counselors, Support Staff, and Case Managers.
Outpatient Program Director also assists in the oversight and schedule of the Recovery Advocates.
The Outpatient Program Director:
• Creates policies and procedures for IOP/PHP protocol and the DHCS standards and
regulations.
• Provides general oversight of all activities, manages the day-to-day operations, and
assures a smoothly functioning, efficient organization.
• Assures program quality and organizational stability through development and
implementation of standards and controls, systems and procedures, and regular
evaluation.
• Assures a work environment that recruits, retains and supports quality staff and
volunteers.
• Assures process for selecting, development, motivating, and evaluating staff.
• Recruits personnel, negotiates professional contracts, and sees that appropriate salary
structures are developed and maintained.
• Specifies accountabilities for management personnel and evaluates performance
regularly.
• Serves as the Performance Improvement Officer, Safety Officer, and Infection Prevention
and Control Officer if appointed by the Managing Members.
Outpatient Duties
• Coordinate with other disciplines to provide highest level of care
• Attends treatment team and staff meetings
• Provides staff supervision and training
• Oversees clinical program
• Oversees quality of treatment and documentation
• Monitors budget
• Performance Improvement Officer to track the programs goals/evaluations, audits for
organization-wide deficiencies, tracks performance data and raw data
• Writing content for organizational policies
• As Performance Improvement Officer, Safety Officer, and Infection Prevention Control
Officer responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable chapters for the Joint
Commission
• Other duties as assigned
As needed:
• Transport residents to appointments, meetings, outings, etc.
Qualifications
Minimum two years of supervisory experience in the industry of addiction treatment.
• May be registered, licensed, or certified
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification on file
• Current TB skin test and health screen report
Knowledge
• Twelve Step Recovery Program
• Supervising a team
• Training and educating
• Gathering data
• Managing a budget
• Community resources and referral techniques
• Working with addiction and dual diagnosis
